Features
Introducing your company to the outside world requires effective call handling by friendly, efficient operators.
The Screen Based Console (SBC), which runs under Windows, is a personal computer that functions as an Operators Console either via the keyboard or the mouse. The screen is user configurable to suit the individual operator and is password protected. The SBC has the full functionality of a normal console, but with a number of extra useful features such as on-line directory, busy line indicator, hot keys, emergency number directory, message storage and external telephone directory.
The SBC also has an Emergency Recording facility, which can be silently activated to record malicious calls.
The SBC is specifically designed to enable the operator to answer and transfer a large number of incoming calls with quick, simple key strokes. The display shows the status of a call at any moment.
The Plessey Integrated Telephone Management System (ITM) can be installed on the same computer. This means that the operator can toggle between the two systems using a function key.
Larger sites can have more than one SBC either networked together or running independently. Directory updates can be loaded manually or on one common to networked SBCs.
The SBC can also function as a Visually Handicapped Operator Console (VHOC) using audio messages to prompt the operator. These messages and other information are recorded by the supervisor in the operator's own language.
Offering enhanced call handling facilities, the selection of consoles provides the operator with ease of use and maximum efficiency. The busy line indicator display keeps the operator informed of extension status and calls may be answered simultaneously and placed on hold until the extension desired becomes available, or whilst the operator performs an enquiry call. The consoles provide enhanced feature keys, which are programmable by the operator so as to monitor the most important extension numbers. The attractive console enables each operator to perform with efficiency, speed and the utmost professionalism.
The Windows based ITM is a comprehensive management tool which allows the user to control telephone usage, costs, system performance and stuff productivity.
A telephone traffic-reporting package offers personalized billing as well as the ability to monitor call-answering statistics thereby improving customer efficiency. Reports may be scheduled and run automatically at pre-defined times or on an "as and when" basis.
A variety of standard reports are available such as most costly calls, longest calls, frequency of dialed numbers, answered and unanswered calls. Reports can be generated by extension, division, or for the entire company.
Effective management and control of incoming calls is critical to the success of any business.
The ACD package allows the user to distribute incoming calls to groups of "agents" who are responsible for specific products or services.
The longest waiting call is serviced first with the agent who has been free the longest being allocated the call.
ACD runs in conjunction with a Management Information System (MIS) which generates statistics on, amongst others, the number of incoming calls, time to answer, calls taken per agent, length of the call and number of abandoned calls. The management system also interfaces to a wall mounted display which indicates various statistics such as number of calls waiting in the queue.
The software also supports supervisor features, system configuration from the supervisor terminal, call monitoring and intrude capability.
The Hotel Management System is a powerful and essential tool used in the Tourist Industry. It includes a variety of options and features that facilitate the monitoring and control of telephone usage in the Hotel or Guest house through the PEBX.
The HMS logs the cost of each call and stores this with each call record. A number of reports can thus be generated, ranging from totals for the complete hotel to individual call records for a particular extension/room.
Easy access to all call data and incurred costs makes effective management possible. Creating and updating guest database is achieved by making room directory database, a hotel structure database of departments, sub-departments, etc., an external directory database, or by making an equipment database. This allows for complete control of all billing, which is recorded by the system.
All Hotel Staff are provided with a user pin code, which is their means of logging in or out the system when attending to the guestrooms. The front office is thus able to monitor the room status continuously when new guests arrive or depart.

Whilst the ISX range is equipped with the normal industry features as standard, there are many enhancements not normally found in a systems of this size. Optional value-added enhancements include a screen-based Operator Console, Voice Mail with Auto-Attendant, Automatic Call Distribution Management System and Hotel/Motel facilities.
