is a Frequently Asked Questions, (FAQ), sheet for Faxaway. This
document is maintained by Faxaway's elite technical support and
assistance staff and is updated regularly.

Faxaway
is the premier, world-wide, low-cost, e-mail-to-fax service, enabling
you to fax an e-mail message to any fax machine in the world from
e-mail.
Compose
an e-mail, then address and send that e-mail to FAXNUMBER@faxaway.com
(country and city code included). When Faxaway receives your e-mail,
it will open a telephone line to the fax machine that you designate,
and send the fax away.
Faxaway
charges for each fax in 6 second increments with a 30 second minimum.
You pay only for transmission time, based on our world-wide rates.
Faxing to a fax machine in the United States could cost as little
as $0.05.
No! None!
You only pay for the cost of transmitting your fax to its destination.
Absolutely
not. Faxaway attempts transmissions of faxes a total of three times,
before notifying you of an unsuccessful transmission, at which point
you may try to send your fax again.
Faxaway
is a service of International Telcom Ltd, which has one of the most
competitive international rate structures available. Compare Faxaway's
rates with AT&T, MCI, or other leading carriers.
On average,
approximately ten lines of text can be sent in thirty seconds, depending
on the speed of the receiving fax machine.
Faxaway
supports UUEncoding, MIME and BinHex for the sake of sending attachments.
Faxaway supports the following attached document types: Microsoft
Word, WordPerfect 5.X, Lotus Ami Pro,text files, bitmap files (BMP)

Absolutely.
You create a document in Microsoft Word, showing how you want your
cover page to look (include graphics, special fonts, fields, headers,
a letterhead, a signature,etc). We will then attach this document
to your Faxaway account, so that all of your faxes have a similar
look. See the Faxaway User's Guide for more information.
Absolutely.
Using Faxaway's robust broadcast fax
capabilities, users compose, edit and append an unlimited number of
broadcast fax groups, containing individual names, companies, fax
numbers and other data. Users give each broadcast fax group a unique
name. Users take a document, and send it as an e-mail attachment to
groupname@faxaway.com, where "name" refers to the unique name of the
broadcast fax group. The document will merge with information from
the broadcast fax group, before Faxaway sends it to all of the fax
numbers in the broadcast fax group.
Absolutely.
Faxaway can handle the US ASCII character set. Faxaway can also handle
the character set ISO-8859-1, which includes the characters used in
most West European languages, such as accented letters, as well as
foreign currency symbols. To be exact, this character set covers the
following languages: Albanian, Catalan, Danish, Dutch, English, Faeroese,
Finnish, French, German, Galician, Irish, Icelandic, Italian, Norwegian,
Portuguese, Spanish, and Swedish.
Faxaway
is compatible with all Group 2, Group 3 and CBF fax machines. Faxaway
is not compatible with manual fax machines, or fax machines that double
as telephone answering machines and fax machines.
Faxaway
is not associated with Kallback and we do not exchange customer information
with Kallback. As an existing Kallback customer, you would need register
separately for Faxaway. |
