Every business and almost every home has a telephone line. This is already a
start to connecting into ZAMNET. Telephone dial-up access is one of the most
widely used media of connecting to ZAMNET. All that is needed to set up the
Internet connection is a computer, a modem and a telephone line.
Dail-up is one of the most commonly used method of connecting to the
Internet, Zamnet Internet services inclusive. Almost very other business
company in the world or home has a telephone line. This is one of the
prerequisites for getting connected to the Zamnet Internet Services. Apart
from the telephone line, two other essential components are needed for
Internet connection, these are a Computer and a Modem. Outlined below is a
brief description of the functions of each component.
COMPUTER: The main purpose of the computer is to enable users to read
their emails and browse the Internet.
MODEM: It acts as an interface between the computer and the telephone
line. Basically the modem is responsible for conversion of the computer
signal into a telephone signal and vice versa. Modems are critical
components of a dial-up system.
TELEPHONE: A workable phone line is needed to enable your modem to
connect to the Internet server. Basically this is the media that is used
during the exchange of data between a client's computer and the Zamnet
Server.
It is imperative for a dial-up client to have all the three components in a
working order otherwise it becomes difficult to connect to the Internet.
